Rooting is the Android equivalent of jailbreaking on IOS, a means of unlocking the operating system so you can install unapproved (by Google) apps, update the OS, replace the firmware, overclock (or underclock) the processor, customize just about anything, and so on.

Of course, for the average user, rooting sounds like -- and can be -- a scary process. After all, "rooting" around in your smartphone's core software might seem like a recipe for disaster. One wrong move and you could end up with bricked handset.

Thankfully, there's a new Windows utility that makes rooting a one-click affair: Kingo Android Root. It's completely free. So, here's how to get started.

Step one: Download and install Kingo Android Root.

Creating a simple Laravel 5 API
Author: node
In this tutorial we will be making a simple API to return information. We'll be using C# along with this tutorial at the end to show you how you can use this.

Table of Contents
API Routing
Creating Controllers/Database
Retrieving Data
Using POST
C# Example

First off, we'll be using a few things in this tutorial: Composer and Lumen (Laravel's micro-framework since we don't need the full package). Of course you'll also need something like WAMP or XAMPP. I'm going to assume you can install all of that (except Lumen) and I'll continue on. We're not going to...

Before I get started on writing this thread, I would like to point out that I do have quite a bit of experience being on forums and managing them alike(Not claiming to be a marketing expert, this is just the trend I noticed). It is not an easy thing to do, anybody can create a forum, but not everybody can keep it alive and thriving. I have seen online communities come and go, usually what happens is that they start out strong then become complete ghost towns. Which is actually sad because some communities have great potential and a lot of content going to waste. In just a few simple steps I will try to aid you on the path to growing your forum.

Be as minimal as possible when constructing categories and forums
Try to have as little forums & categories as possible. If you end up having too many forums, you will end up looking empty to potential users and that scares them off at times. Try and cater to your members when there is a demand for new places to post.

There are many features that come with this membership. They can be viewed simply by clicking the logo above.

Note: If any issues occur during the upgrade process, please contact us immediately via PM.

Thank you Microsoft for providing something we don't have to destroy our wallets for.

If you've ever used NodeJS or any other "cloud language" before than you know that we don't get the luxury of things such as intellisense (if you don't know what that is, it's basically auto-complete for programmers). However, the Visual Studio team has release Visual Studio Code which gives this option (among other things) to us.

For all new users just arriving on this site, welcome. For all users that had been on the original RedDotCity, there will be explanations.

What happened to RDC?
RedDotCity was run by MrRedDoT as always, but about a month ago he vanished from the internet. The site we loved went down and there was nothing to do about it. The old staff of RedDotCity has been working to find MrRedDoT over the past months, but no answer.

What is this site?
Because we loved RDC so much, we decided to open up a new one. This forum will be almost the same as the RedDotCity we all know and love. It is to bring in the old user base and usher in a new one as well.
